File Management on Windows Computers

File Management is very important for every user to found the files stored in your computer. If they are not manage in an ordered way, you need lot of time to find them or you may never be able to find them again and your tme is wasted trying to find a particular file.

Why do files need to be managed?
Computer files stored in a computer need to be found. If they are not stored in an ordered, methodical way you may never be able to find them again.

For instance, you may create a folder called 2010, to store all your data for the year 2010. Within that folder you could create folders for each of your subjects, by subject codes.

Inside your subject folder, say CN3300 you could then create other folders such as Assignments and Notes.
You could then save your first assignment for CN3300, in the Assignment directory within the CN3300 directory (which is in 2010 directory).

You could save as One_AssignmentTitleName. Finding this file should then be relatively easy comparison to that if you not save  a file in proper manner.

Another thing is that files need to be backed up. Diskettes, CD’s and even hard drives can become corrupted. It is also possible to delete important files by mistake - human errors occur frequently when a person's mind is upset or person is very tired or in hurry - leading to the loss of that important assignment. If only there was another copy on another disk...

File management on the GATCF computers is done using My Computer.
Open My Computer, by double clicking on the My Computer icon on the desktop. You will see a list of devices available to your computer.
You will have access to save or read data from a removable USB stick, (H:) to save data to the Share Drive, (F:) to save or read data from a CD Rom or DVD, and your Homes drive will be shown as your logon ID. To see what is in these drives you can double click on the drive (E: F, or H :) and the contents of the drive should appear in the Contents Window to the right of the window. This will show all Folders and Files in the home drive. (I:\)
You can explore further by double clicking on each folder until you ether locate the file you are searching for or the location you wish to save your file in.

Laptop Battery Tips

Laptops, one of the most demandable electronic product. It is most widely outselling desktops than ever before.  But problem is that with increasing demand of laptop problems related to laptop also increases. Very common problem with most laptop users is how to maximize their laptop’s or notebook’s battery life or how to fix up personal laptop.
Here below are few points to help you to increase the life of your laptop battery:-
1) Maximize battery life
Screen of the laptop is the component that consumes the most battery power of your laptop. To increase the run time of your laptop battery, be sure to dim your display screen whenever possible and especially be careful when you are not  connected  to an AC supply.
In addition to that, disables the other services such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi network connections when they are not being used will also save your laptop’s battery power. Disconnecting external devices like USB flash drives when you’re done transferring data to or from them will also extend battery life.
2) Never charge your laptop’s battery constantly
Don’t connect your laptop’s battery to charge permanently. A battery constantly kept at full charge will degrade at a faster rate, hence never keep your laptop (and its battery) connected to mains constantly. If you connect your laptop to an AC supply most of the time, the battery’s capacity to hold charge will reduce quicker than normal. Plug a laptop’s battery for charging when the charge drains below 15% and try not to unplug the laptop’s battery while it’s in the middle of its charging cycle.
3) Don’t remove your laptop’s battery when it’s plugged into a power source
We’ve seen some people do this -- they charge their laptop battery to the max and unplug the battery while working on their laptop connected to AC mains. They do this to have a fully-charged battery whenever they have to move away from the power source and have to use their laptop on the go.
Only remove the battery from your laptop if your laptop’s overheating and don’t make it a habit of working on your laptop constantly connected to AC supply, allow your laptop battery to charge and discharge periodically.
4) Store a battery in a cool place
Heat causes a battery to degrade at a faster rate, hence it’s always best to minimize the battery’s exposure to heat. Make sure you are not blocking the laptop’s heat vents when working on it from your lap. Also some laptops come with Intel’s Advanced Cooling Technology to improve airflow so that it can run cooler. Avoid storing your laptop in a car for long where it can easily overheat.
5) Charging and discharging your laptop’s battery
Most modern-day laptops have Lithium ion batteries, free of memory effect, so it’s unnecessary to do full charge and discharge cycle on them on a daily basis like other battery types -- Ni Cd and NiMH. But remember, doing a full discharge and charge cycle at least once in every 40 to 50 charge cycles will help keep your battery’s fuel gauge accurate.

Intel envisions palm vein-reading technology to replace passwords

Intel recently uncover a prototype biometric sensor technology that would acquiesce users to access passwords artlessly by bouncing their calmly a tablet, or computer. The adjustment could be acclimated for a varity of passwords, from unlocking the book itself, to online casework like net-banking and email.

According to Intel, the approach vein-reading technology is already added authentic than fingerprint-scanners begin in some laptops today. It is currently beneath development however, and while it will crave new softwares and sensors to congenital into anon into the devices, it will not crave new types of chips.

To ensure that already users accept chock-full application the accessory which recognizes their altered identity, the tablets would ascertain already the being has placed the accessory down, and automatically assurance them out. For now, the adjustment seems like it could be calmly baffled or abolished weв accept to delay and see what added added assurance appearance Intel adds into the technology.
